The Sigma Tau Delta English Studies Conference (ESC), held each fall and spring semester, is open to all WMU students, whether they are members of Sigma Tau Delta or not. The conference showcases the best scholarly and creative writing of WMU students, who have the opportunity to present their work in a professional setting in front of an audience of students, faculty, and staff. This entirely student-run conference is our chapter's signature campus event.
Twenty-four WMU students will present their work at the Spring 2010 conference on Saturday, April 17. Click here to see the schedule of speakers for the Spring 2010 ESC.

- Inductions of new members take place twice each academic year, in the fall and spring semesters. To apply for Spring 2010 induction, please click here to find out how to join us.

Sigma Tau Delta at Western Michigan University is always working on something, whether it is an academic activity, community service, conference travel, or a fun social event. Please join our Facebook group "Sigma Tau Delta (Alpha Nu Pi Chapter)" to receive notifications about all our events, including meetings, inductions, officer elections, social events, national and regional conventions, and our own English Studies Conference.
Going national
The Alpha Nu Pi chapter has been an active participant in the annual Sigma Tau Delta International Conventions since 2006, our first year of eligiblity. We have twice been recognized as an Outstanding Chapter by the national organization, who called the WMU chapter "one of the most active, vital chapters in the country." All members are encouraged to apply to present their work at the convention or to attend as a chapter delegate.
The 2010 International Convention will be held in St. Louis.
Presenters at the 2010 International Convention are once again eligible for travel funding assistance, thanks to the generosity of the College of Arts and Sciences.
Check out more photos from last year's convention in Louisville by visiting our news and events page.
Become a friend of the Alpha Nu Pi chapter by donating to the Sigma Tau Delta Fund through the WMU Foundation. Contributions help to fund memberships and conference travel for students. Click here to learn more about the fund or to donate.
